Cybernetic lifeforms which take humanoid life and improves upon it, or so they say, to have a single purpose. They were in the Alpha Quadrant, however they were sent to the Delta Quadrant. They attain perfection by forcibly assimilating species, as well as technologies. Having no race of their own doesn't stop them from being greatly feared.
